High quality, easy to assemble, & puts out lots of hea
This patio heater is of the size & quality that we see at nice restaurants, is very stable & puts out lots of heat. It was easy to assemble because the instruction manual was very detailed & all bolts, nuts, etc. were clearly labeled in separate ziplock packets. Most of those also include a spare in case you lose one, and each is labeled with quantity & whether there’s a spare included in the packet.
It has 2 wheels on one side of the base to roll around easily, and includes a sand/water box installed on the bottom for weight. Most similar heaters sell that separately but it’s a must-have for safety.
All you need is a full 20lb propane tank to connect and you’re ready to rock! The hose is included and there’s a strap that buckles the tank in for stability.
The little tray on the tank cover is handy for drinks or snacks. The heater is constructed of stainless steel that will last for years, but we still ordered a zippered cover to protect it from top to bottom.
We anseembled it inside our basement & then rolled it outside on the patio, I realized later that installing the heat shield on top would have been easier if we’d done it outside because we could have stood on the steps to our balcony to easily reach it from the top. It wasn’t hard at all but the steps would have made it that much easier.
Love, love, love it!!
Very well made, commercial-grade, stainless steel heater. Once everything is in place, it is easy to control the propane at the tank. Our heater started on the second try, and gave off wonderful heat.
Such a pity winter is over in Florida!
How fantastic is it to have clear, understandable instructions for assembling something which is not complicated per se but which could be so, if the instructions were vague. There are of course many parts to this, but assembly is straightforward and can be done by one person, until you get to the part where you need to connect the three pieces together – it is almost imperative to have another person when fitting the top reflector to the burn mechanism so that the gas hose does not get damaged. If you are alone, you can rest the burn assembly on a workbench so that it overhangs a bit in space and then attach the vertically-held reflector.
Some other tips: there are 9 washers involved when you attach the reflector to the burn assembly – if someone is assisting, you may be tempted to rush and not realize that one washer goes on the top of the burn assembly and one goes above and another below the reflector. It is worth using proper tools to assemble this – the little supplied wrench (or even a regular wrench) does not do a good job and it is helpful to get someone with good upper body strength to tighten the bolts with a ratchet wrench and a drill. I was horrified when my husband, wielding proper tools, tightened every single bolt a great deal more, and here am I thinking I have done a good job!
One last comment: the hose is a just a tad short for a standard propane tank; we placed the tank on 2″ high piece of lumber to soften the kink.
Review for: EAST OAK 50,000 BTU Patio Heater with Sand Box, Double-Layer Stainless Steel Burner, Table Design, Safety Protection System, Wheels, Propane Patio Heater for Home and Commercial, Stainless Steel
The classic patio heate
This outdoor propane heater by EAST OAK left me impressed! With a mighty 50,000 BTUs, this beast warms vast open areas like my backyard or terrace up to 20 feet in diameter, perfect for year-round gatherings. The ETL certification ensures its suitability across various settings, from home to commercial zones.
What truly sets it apart is the robust 304 stainless steel burning grid, built to last longer than traditional heaters. Its unique conical barrel adds stability, while the integrated, weighted water tank bolsters resilience against wind and weather.
As a host, I appreciate those little details that make life easier, such as the sleek tabletops for drinks, snacks, and gadgets, complete with a smart drainage system. Starting the fire with a simple push of a button and controlling the heat with an intuitive dial enhances my comfort levels. Even closing the gas valve without lifting anything bulky feels like a thoughtful perk.
To sum up, EAST OAK’s outdoor heater redefines my expectations of outdoor heating solutions — delivering superior warmth, exceptional quality, and well-thought-out features for the ultimate relaxation experience come rain or shine!
I got this heater for my daughter front porch patio. It was really easy to set up and the instructions provided were easy to follow. We set it up in 30 minutes. It is larger than I expected but it fits perfectly where we wanted put it which is on a 10′ L x 8′ W x 10′ H covered patio. The instructions say we need 2′ top clearance which we have. The quality is excellent. The heater finish was flawless when it arrived. The gas nozzle was easy to hook up. We primed it and turned it on. It heated up so fast I was impressed. The 50,000 BTUS heated up our patio space within 5 minutes. Everyone in the 120 sf space felt really toasty quick. The heater takes 2 people to move around because it’s over 7′ tall. Don’t try and move it yourself it’s too heavy. We love this new heater and excited to get a lot of use in Oregon while we wait for the nice weather.
Wonderful addition to our patio
The first thing to mention is this thing is big. Bigger than I anticipated once I got it put together. Originally I was going to use it on our covered front deck by our outdoor furniture, but the unit itself is well over 6 feet tall and directions recommended 4 feet of clearance from the top of the unit to anything above it… so following the directions, you’d need a ceiling over 10 feet tall to put this under. This is not a complaint, but something to keep in mind when ordering. The reflector up top is also very wide and wouldn’t have fit through our front door if I would have completed the assembly inside the house (where I started it).
Fortunately we have an uncovered back deck that this is perfect for. The instructions are really quite good and it goes together fairly quickly. It lights easily and it puts out a LOT of heat. In fact, we’re sitting in 50 and 60 degree weather and the low setting is plenty to warm our area to be comfortable outside. It’s stainless steel and should hold up well.
Very happy with this!
You will first notice the high quality when you open the box. Everything well packaged and labeled. The instructions are in a full-sized and not the typical tiny print on rough paper.
Everything is provided for assembly in the box.
There’s a three-year extended warranty – if you register for it on East Oak’s website.
Assemble everything on a surface where it will be easy to find dropped screws. Like all sheet metal products, it’s best to wear thick gloves to prevent serious wounds when constructing.
Some of the assembly is easier in a slightly different sequence. For example, I highly recommend doing Step 3.3 as you’re doing Step 3.1 — screwing the parts together rather than letting them simply fall apart.
The first time you use a new propane tank, you keep the gas knob pushed in for a minute or two to allow the gas to prime the empty feed line.
This gives off enough heat for about 4 adults sitting in regular sized patio chairs. I wouldn’t rely on this to keep you warm on windy days as the heat radiates. This is more of a mood item that can knock a chill off of the fall/spring crisp days.
Good for the price
Good item for the listed price. It gets its use on very windy Texas days. Love having this for my outdoor patio. It’s a great addition especially if you have guests or if you want to sit outside and the weather isn’t on your side.
