Give me an excuse to OWN a tool vs rent one and I’ll fall for it every time ! . I accidentally over-filled our old pool with well-water instead of using city water, since it had to be drained about 2 feet in a ~25000 gal pool for a Red Rhino leak repair around the skimmer box….but, little did I know, our local well water is high in copper…so turned the water a clear oxydized copper green from the chlorine….so I had to buy one of those chem packets you drop in the basket for metals removal. Since each packet is only rated for 20,000 gal…figured I’d better drain down about 3 inches to proper, normal level so as not to exhaust this chem packet.
The local rental place wanted $40 to rent a pump for 4 hours, or I could get this, and keep it, for $90, so did (though did buy 2-pack of new batteries and dual-charger)
It fired right up, self-primed in less than a minute, and now out there firing away. (See Vid.) It’s a bit loud, but not important?…and did confirm MELLIF has a set of 2 replacement impellers for ~$10? here on Amazon…(is IMPORTANT!)
New, generic 6Ah battery lasted ~20-25 minutes on high….I probably should have hooked hose to outlet side to get water further out into yard and allow slowing pump to lowest of the 3 speeds and maybe battery will last longer ? I’ll be sure to update if pump dies or other issue…but, so fa
I use this transfer pump to pump water out of my rain barrels for my garden. I’ve needed to use it twice and it has performed well. Let’s see how long it lasts
This brushless water transfer pump impressed me right away. Seems to be decent quality. Very easy to use. It primes fast and moved water much better than I expected for a cordless unit. It worked well with the included 4.0Ah battery, and I also tested it with a DeWalt 20V Max battery with no issues at all. The fact that it includes a battery makes it a great value.
Love it! I use it to water plants that are too far from the house to run a hose. I just put 3 5-gallon buckets in my wagon, fill em up, and off I go to water anywhere cord/hose free. Nice charger too; works with my other Dewalt batteries, and charges them twice as fast (100 watts vs 50).
Plumber, use to drain water heaters works well and is far better than the big brand name. Amazing at its price point. Variable speed and flash light are very helpful as well.
