Product Description
Artificial topiaries look real
These look almost real! I needed something on my front stoop that didn’t need sign which most everything does. Plastic branches have bits of pale green at the end that gives them a more realistic look. At a distance you probably wouldn’t be able to tell. They are nice and full and needed very little adjustment. Stuck them in some pots and threw some mulch around the top also gives it a more realistic look. I didn’t use the solar lights because they won’t get enough light but did use them elsewhere.
I liked these little faux trees so much when I product tested them for Vine that I decided to buy another set of two. They really look great in a couple of poolside planters. And, yay, no worries about watering!
I would say on a scale of 1 to 10 in terms of how real they look, I will give them a 7. I mean, if you’re standing right next to them, of course you can tell they’re fake (see closeup photo). But step back five feet, and it’s much harder to tell.
I love that the foliage on these trees has some variation in color. The tips of some of the leaf clusters are a lighter green as if the sun has hit them.
Also the trees are fairly full for their size, but they do need a good fluff when you first set them up.
They also have nice metal stakes which would be very useful if you’re planning to put these trees directly in the ground.
Only thing I don’t like about these trees is the strong plastic-y smell coming off them. But. honestly, it’s not much different than any other outdoor-grade faux plant I have bought.
Possibly the noxious smell is something to do with the UV protection on the plastic, but I don’t know. Anyway. I’m sure the smell will dissipate over time. They’re outdoors after all.
Good with room for improveme
It’s does the job, but not the best. Tried to fluff the trees to cover the wooden trunk in the middle, but it is a little bare towards the top. If it was a little fuller at the top I think it would help with the “realistic” aspect. It also did not come with the spikes that are supposed to be attached to the base. This made it difficult to stand the trees upright without falling. It came with two solar powered colored string lights instead.
Fun from a Distance
Definitely not realistic as the plastic tree trunk shows through. Should have more greenery. BUT from a distance they look cute. The lights are a fun touch for my tool shed decor.
