Buy this lid! It is a no-brainer when comparing to the hard lid this model comes with. I bought this model because it was on sale at tractor supply but unfortunately it did not have a hinged lid. I’m glad Blackstone came out with this solution because it makes using much easier as well as holding in heat during cooks as needed. If you are on the fence, just know that installation is a breeze and the lid is well made. Should last for years with good maintenance. I’ve had good luck in the past with the high heat black spray-on paint for barbecues. As these things age I’m sure paint peels but with a little bit of sanding and a wire wheel you could easily resurface the grill and lid.
I bought my blackstone with the two handle lift off lid and realized after the fact that a hinged lid would be better. I’ve been waiting for a year looking at aftermarket options, hoping Blackstone would sell their factory lid. Finally they did!
It fits perfectly, easy to install with the included hardware and instructions. You just need a Phillips screwdriver and either a wrench or pair of pliers to hold the lock nuts. Maybe 10 minute install.
It’s much better than the lift off lid, very easy to open and close, has more clearance from the grill surface as well so it can be closed while grilling briefly to melt cheese without needing a separate melting cover. Being painted I probably wouldn’t keep it closed for a long period of time and wait until the griddle is cooled off somewhat before closing at the end of cooking.
It’s exactly the hinged lid you see on the blackstones at the store, well worth the upgrade if you bought a grill without a lid.
Fits perfectly
This completely makes over our Blackstone. Ours came with the removable cover and talk about a pain to use when cooking. This cover works just like a standard BBQ grill and is so much easier to use and putting it on was easy.
This hood is exactly what I was looking for to protect my Blackstone 36″ Omnivore griddle. The powder-coated steel feels very solid and durable, and it fits the griddle perfectly without any wobble. The stainless steel front handle is a nice touch and makes it easy to lift on and off when cooking.
Installation was quick and straightforward—no frustration or complicated steps. It does a great job keeping out rain, dust, and debris, and I like that it prevents water from pooling on the surface. Overall, it feels like a high-quality product that’s built to last and does exactly what it’s supposed to do.
If you want good protection and a clean, finished look for your griddle, this hood is definitely worth it.
