      This is my second Samsung Chromebook. My first one lasted over 5 years before I started to run out of space and then last night the hinge stuck and the screen cracked when I tried to force it open. This is my remote business computer, so this needed to be resolved immediately. I was imagining days and hours of effort.

      I ordered this updated version of my previous 2-in-1 which has 4 times the storage and longer battery life. It arrived the same day with the SD card. I charged it and started the updates. Within 3 hours, everything was perfect - all my apps, preferences, bookmarks, and files were seamlessly restored. I used the SD card to copy my non-cloud files. My total downtime was less than 24 hours!

      LESSON LEARNED: if the hinge resists opening - stop immediately and take it to an expert.

      I received this chromebook a couple days ago and was not impressed once I got it unboxed and setup. My first thought was that it was too slow, both on the internet and with my spreadsheets. I have a half gig connection to the internet so that could not be the problem. This is the first time I have had to work with web applications and they do not work as fast as applications that reside on the computer. I immediately asked for a return authorization. I was not happy with it at all. However, after playing with it for a couple days I have decided to keep it for 30 days and test it for future buyers. I will report back before I have to return it.       After having worked with this chromebook for about two months now I have found that it is not as bad as first reported. I have become accustomed to the length of time it takes to work my spreadsheets from the web. The book itself has worked flawlessly and as designed. Don't get me wrong, it's not a Windows laptop but as i said works well enough for home computing needs. However, I could not recommend this for any kind of computing for a job whether working from home or in the office. The bottom line is I kept the machine and will use it.

      I like this chromebook because it has everything I need from it: access to chrome and a pen to write on the screen. The battery life is very decent. I dont need to bring the charger everywhere. One annoying thing about the adapter is that it is very wide so it doesnt fit on the plug right next to other adaptors. Also, since it is just a chromebook, it doesnt have the highest processing speed. Sometimes I find I am having to be patient because it is a little slow. Overall though, great, economic buy.
