This is soft material, very soft but sturdy pillow. The hammock is very deep and holds my 2.5 month old just fine. She was very comfortable and actually fell asleep within minutes of being in it. The only thing is getting it hooked up holding the baby by yourself. Has to be hooked on before getting the baby out car seat.

Only downfall is that it does take up room in the cart, but you could still put items under it, but the baby could reach items you have around them. Other than that, this is a great purchase!     It was hard shopping for larger items with my baby in the carrier. It was also impossible to push her stroller and push a grocery cart around. This is a great solution! My baby loves that she can look at me and look around at everything while we shop. The only downside is it does take up a lot of room so if you were getting a bigger item that couldn't fit under the cart this wouldn't work. also be careful of what you put under the baby, depending on how low the hammock is hanging it could be poking their back. I have used it at Costco, Walmart, and Fry's so far.

    Loved the idea of being able to no have a bulky carrier in the cart, or her strapped to my chest. I purchased, and headed off to the store. She LOVED it, everyone complemented it, but as I filled the cart up with groceries I quickly found the flaw. Filling it up wasn't to bad, but when I had to unload it was so awkward, this thing takes over more than half the cart, to reach under her and unload was difficult and annoying. If you use reusable bags, forget about it, almost near impossible to get them in the cart with the child still in place. RETURNED.
