Installation Information

Installation is straightforward and requires no special tools. Simply disconnect the original factory controller from your grill’s wiring harness and connect the new unit in its place.For proper installation, please refer to the wiring interface diagram before connecting the controller to ensure all connections are made correctly.

Important Compatibility Note

⚠️ Please read carefully before installation: This controller is designed for use with standard thermocouple (RTD) temperature probes and is intended for general temperature control applications in pellet grills.

Please be aware of the following limitations:

Pellet Sensor Interface – This controller does NOT include a physical connection port for a pellet level sensor. As a result, you will not be able to monitor remaining pellet levels through the controller display or via the Traeger App. This is the only function affected.

Pellet Stove Feed Systems – This controller is specifically designed for Traeger wood pellet grills and is NOT compatible with pellet stove heating systems or their feed mechanisms.

What does this mean for your grill?

All essential grilling functions remain fully operational. Your grill will ignite, feed pellets, circulate air, and maintain cooking temperature exactly as it should. The pellet sensor wire from your original controller – the one that was connected to the factory controller – can simply be left disconnected and unused. It is not required for startup, normal cooking, or temperature regulation.
