How do I add fragrance to unscented sand?
The black and white sand wax are unscented, and designed for customization. Add 4-5 drops of essential or fragrance oil where the wick meets the sand. Start small and adjust gradually. Allow the oil to absorb before lighting.
Why did my wick burn out quickly?
For better wick performance, make sure your vessel is filled generously. Anchor the wick securely, with at least 1" of the wick below the sand surface and 1/4" above. Space wicks 2" apart. Shallow containers may result in shorter burn times.
Can I reuse the remaining sand after burning?
One of the best parts of candle sand is its reusabillity! Once the melted wax cools, lift up the used wick and break apart the hardened wax around it. Discard this. Smooth out the remaining sand and insert a fresh wick. Time to relight!
How should I dispose of used wax?
Our candle beads are 100% plant based, eco-friendly, and petroleum-free – they're biodegradable and compostable. Lift up the wick; the used wax will have pooled around it. Discard the used wax in the compost bin or bury it in the yard.
Is candle sand supposed to melt differently from traditional candles?
Yes! Our sand burns differently from poured wax candles. Instead of creating one large melt pool, each wick forms its own melted area in the surrounding wax pearls. This modified burn style helps reduce wasted wax. You can replace a wick at a time.
