• The cooktop will not ignite at all. What should I check first?

  Please check 3 things in order: (1) a fresh D-cell battery is installed with the correct +/- polarity; (2) the gas shut-off valve is fully open and the supply is not empty; (3) the burner cap and burner base are seated flat and correctly aligned.

• Can this gas cooktop be used with propane (LPG) or butane?

  Yes. The cooktop ships preset for Natural Gas(NG) and includes LPG conversion nozzles in the accessory bag. For propane/butane supply, the NG nozzles must be replaced with the included LPG nozzles. The packaging contains LPG nozzle and manual.

• Does it come with a gas regulator and hose?

  Built-in (drop-in) cooktops do not include a regulator or hose — both are available at any local hardware store.

• One burner will not light — is it defective?

  Check that you are turning the correct knob: each knob is marked with the burner it controls. And check if the battery is installed correctly, if the main valve is not opening the gas, or if the gas is used up or if the ignition needle is broken.

• The flame goes out as soon as I release the knob. Is the cooktop faulty?

  No — that is the flame failure protection (thermocouple) doing its job. After the burner ignites, hold the knob down for about 10–15 seconds so the thermocouple heats up, then release slowly.
