Flexible To-Do List/Planne
My wife recently retired (there goes my 16 years of peace!) and one of her retirement wishes is to drive across eastern Canada from starting out from Alberta. My spouse is a great organizer and is taking charge of the route, attractions to stop at, hotels/motels and all the other considerations you run into on a major trip. I saw and ordered the RoadDeer Undated Daily To-DoList Planner to facilitate her chore.
The 54 sheets are identical and measure 6.5 inches by 10.31 inches, are wire bound at the top and have subdued shades of colour in the various sections. The paper is heavy enough to resist ink bleed. Each page is undated and has 6 sections. On the left is a column with check boxes and space for a to-do list or, in our particular case, an itinerary item. The right hand column has a space for the date, a Top 3 Priorities section, For Tomorrow section, Don’t Forget section and a Notes section. All sections, except the Date and Notes sections, have check boxes.
There are several things we like about this particular product. Firstly, it is nice to have undated sheets so that sheets aren’t wasted if there are no activities on a given day. We also like that there is generous writing space (with the blank back side available for more extensive notes). The check boxes are nice as they give you a visual representation of your progress. The Priorities section will be valuable to us as it is easy to over estimate how much one can accomplish in one day so this enables us to make the hard decisions on what to skip prior to leaving. It is also nice having a section of tasks that may be required to be carried out today to enable tomorrow’s activities thus the For Tomorrow section may be needed. We also like the coil binding at the top as it doesn’t get in the way of writing space and makes it easier to turn pages in use.
If you have a need for a flexible To-Do list/planner this may very well fit your needs.
Convenient, small, but works surprisingly well
I have used a few vacuum sealers before, but this cordless one is by far the most convenient. I love not having to deal with cords taking up counter space, and the portable size makes it easy to carry around. It’s really small in my hand, but still powerful enough to create a strong seal that keeps food fresh much longer.
I have been using it for meats, vegetables, and even snacks for travel, and everything stays fresher compared to regular storage bags. The wet and dry separation feature works great, especially when sealing marinated foods or cooked meals. The reusable bags are a huge bonus too, and I appreciate that it came with plenty included right out of the box. Yeah, this little vacuum sealer has made meal prep and food storage much easier for me at home.
A great layout that makes a subtle difference
As someone with ADHD, to-do lists are both a boon and a burden as they often blend into the background, forgotten entirely in a matter of days. They’re hard to make at all, really. Decision paralysis and executive dysfunction abound.
This list however breaks itself into multiple sections, subtly guiding your thoughts towards the tasks at hand. Forcing you to think about what tasks can be put off, or if any are important enough to prioritize. I cannot explain how such a small gesture releases the good brain chemicals, but it’s very satisfying to check off items when they’re finished.
The text is printed only on one side, leaving the back of each sheet as a bit of extra note-space if you want or need it. The type is clear and easy to read, and the slightly colored backgrounds behind the blocks on the right side enforce a very clear division. Each line has plenty of space vertically, so I don’t feel cramped when trying to write something down.
The paper itself has a slight tooth to it, so it works well with pretty much any type of pen or pencil I throw at it. I was very pleased when my highlighters didn’t smudge the lines or cause the ink of the text to bloom! (If you’re very heavy with watery ink, it may still bleed a little bit as the paper isn’t super dense.)
There is a clear cover over the top of the pad. It’s thick and sturdy, but does cloud the view of the underlying paper ever-so-slightly.
The wire rings of the binding can bend to the side a bit under stress or if dropped, but I haven’t had any break or deform past that and it’s easy enough to nudge them back into place.
