Good chair for long hours of sitting at your desk
The building of the chair was pretty straightforward, the box includes what you need, including a pair of white gloves so you don’t get any oil from the piston on your hands while assembling it.
The chair itself is fairly comfortable, about on par with other similar chairs I’ve tried. The seat cushion does feel a bit flat but only after long hours of sitting (and I’ve been told I should get up every hour so…). I do wish the arm rests had better padding. My elbow ends up feeling sore after a day’s work in the chair.
The lumbar support works decently enough, though if you, like me, have lower back problems, you’ll want your own lumbar pillow for better support. The chair’s headrest is nice, and can be flipped up and away if you don’t want it in the way (for instance if you have a hair clip).
So far, the mesh material has held up fairly well to the small attempts of my cat to scratch at it and climb on top of the back, though I do my best to avoid her fully using it as a scratching pad.
I think the only part that I have some reservations about is the wheels. Granted my old chair had smooth silicone wheels, these feel rough and don’t move smoothly, and keep getting stuck on the edge of my desk carpet.
This was a real project as I’m 75+ yrs old with various “issues”. Read where some claim to assemble the chair in about 20 minutes. For me, it was 2 hours. My hands don’t work like they once did! So instructions were straightforward. Hardware was packaged well and labeled with keys to instruction steps. All hardware use the included hex wrench thingy. Was concerned some of the tolerances of mounting holes and such might be problem, but everything fit together precisely. One issue us putting armrests & brackets together. They are a right side and a left side but aren’t identified as such, nor do they look like they fit one side or the other. Easy to assemble backward so instructions need to reflect this, and maybe label the parts. I had to find this out the hard way. Overall, the quality of the chair is good, height range is good, the lift function works well and it’s a comfortable chair to be sure. And don’t tighten the screws/bolts super tight initially. Wait til everything fits together well, then tighten with reasonable force.
