Product description

Takes a little tweaking...but not as overwhelming as it looks in the box!
Okay so I’m going to be honest, this sat in the box for a while because when I first opened it, I immediately thought, “yeah this looks like a project for another day.” There are a LOT of pieces and it felt overwhelming at first.
But once I finally sat down, laid everything out, and actually thought it through, it was nowhere near as complicated as it looked. It all connects really easily, and I love that it basically comes with everything you need (minus your hose and water source). Once I got going, it was actually kind of fun to set up.
I will say, I wish it came with more of the orange emitters. I definitely prefer those over the green ones. The orange ones seem to put out a better flow and cover more area, which matters for me because my garden space is pretty open and gets “some” wind. The green ones are a little more “stream-like” and don’t spread as much, so I’ve been playing around with placement and alternating them to get better coverage.
Also, if you’ve never used a drip system before (like me), just know it’s a little bit of a learning curve. I’m still tweaking things to get everything evenly watered in a new-this-year bed. It’s not a “set it once and walk away forever” kind of thing right out of the gate. But once you get it dialed in, i think it will work really well.
I’m actually really impressed. It’s a great setup for the price, it works, and it makes watering way easier than dragging a hose around. I’m already thinking about grabbing another one to expand into more beds. I hope this holds up well!
So yeah, if you open the box and feel instantly overwhelmed same. But don’t let that stop you. It’s way easier than it looks once you get into i
Good coverage and flexibility, but takes time to dial i
I set this up for a small garden area to reduce manual watering. The kit includes enough connectors and tubing to customize layout for different plants.
Once installed, it distributes water evenly and saves time, but the initial setup takes some trial and error—especially adjusting flow rates and positioning emitters.
Compared to hand watering, it’s a big time saver once configured properly.
I’d give it 4 stars. It works well, but expect to spend time fine-tuning it at the start.
Rain Point did not sell some of the items in their kits separately on their site.
Hubby was able to snap the products together and install them in the yard in about six hours. He buried much of the hosing. The time included the digging. Rain Point did not sell some of the items in their kits separately on its site. Hubby investigated and found similar items through other companies on Amazon. We thought it strange that Rain Point wouldn’t have sold them except as part of an irrigation kit. As such, I only gave them four stars.
Efficient, easy to install, great watering solutio
I got this drip irrigation system for a Christmas tree lot I recently planted. The setup was surprisingly simple with everything connecting together with a push-and-lock design. No need for extra tools or the need to heat the tubing in order to make connections. It’s very simple process, even for a DIYer like myself who has never installed an irrigation system before.
The tubing and connectors are durable and hold together securely without leaks or popping off under regular water pressure. Plus, the materials are designed to handle a variety of outdoor conditions, so you can leave it set up season after season without worrying about overheating or becoming brittle in the cold.
I really appreciate how customizable it is. The adjustable water spouts let you control exactly how much water each tree gets, delivering water right to the roots — helping trees (and plants) stay healthier without overwatering or wasting water.
Overall, this is a reliable irrigation solution for anyone with a garden, greenhouse, or even a tree farm. It’s efficient, easy to install, and makes maintaining healthy plants and trees so much easier. Highly recommend for beginners, seasoned DIYers, and even experienced gardeners.
Everything you need but a time
The RAINPOINT irrigation system is a great starter kit that includes everything you need except for a timer. There is 25′ of 5/16″ to use as the main line and 50′ of1/4″ line for branches. Kit includes both drip and spray emitters as well as single, double and quadruple connectors giving you multiple options to provide water for your plants. I have had issues with metal fitting oxidizing so I’m glad to see these are plastic.
The first thing I did was to unroll the tubing and lay out in sun to straighten. This makes it easier to lay out in your garden bed. I used the system to water plants on my pool deck.
I started by placing the main line in position from my timer location down the side of the deck. I then located each of my branch outlets next to my planters. Using the provided cutter, I cut the tubing to the lengths I needed.
All of the branch lines and emitters are “push to connect” which makes installation easier. If you need to remove the tubing from an emitter, hold the tubing at the fitting, pull the collar and the tubing releases. The main line use barb fittings.
I made a s mistake by attaching the irrigation tubing to the timer connector before screwing onto timer. The connection will not turn on the tubing and will twist the tubing if you attempt to do so. You can screw the connector to the timer and then connect tubing, but when you need to remove, it will twist again. To solve this issue, I used a plastic garden hose shut off connector.
I have several other RAINPOINT products and can consent to their quality.
Best garden gadget I've ever bought.
If I could give this ten stars I would because this is just the best thing I think I’ve ever bought for the garden. I’ve got timers and drip hoses and splitters and fountains and all sorts of gadgets but this is awesome.
It was interesting to set-up. I did a dry run and laid everything out where I wanted it and then double checked the radius the water would go and then made additional adjustments so I wasn’t overlapping the water. We have suffered a drought for the last few years and water is precious so I didn’t want to waste any by having one spot get too much in one spot and not enough in another.
Once the layout was done it was easy enough to get the different ends and splitters connected and then main hose set-up. I did a quick test, but we are still experiencing a late winter here, so it was just enough to check for connections and then I had to turn it off. I’ll run it longer to check for significant leaks later when there is no chance of freezing the hoses. Super happy with this, I plan on hooking up a water timer so the timer goes off and automatically waters the garden beds in the mornings.
Great system to water a small garden automatically
Until now I’ve been watering the front and back yard plants, trees and herbs manually. I do have a sprinkler I can activate in the backyard but it doesn’t reach everything.
Watering in the middle of the summer literally takes me almost an hour.
It was time to invest in an irrigation system. I have several rainpoint products and they’re all great quality. This system is no exception.
It comes with everything you need including 1/2″ and 1/4″ tubing (so higher volume of water can go longer distances), vortex and spray ends as well as a cutting tool and ground spikes. You do have to measure and plan out your garden in advance, but once you figure it all out you just cut the tube to your custom lengths with the included tool and connect the junctions and sprayers, which all just press on easily.
I’m not sure this system will be sufficient to water my trees and certainly not for the grass, so a sprinkler will still be needed. However, this will save me having to water everything else in the garden.
The garden isn’t set up yet as it’s still too cold here so I haven’t had a chance to try it but will report back if there are any issues. I think I would remove this in the winter as winterizing this in cold climate may be difficult. The way this all connects makes disassembly easy however.
Overall this appears to be a high quality product that will simplify watering for anyone’s garden.
Disappointing for a rainpoint produc
I have always been a big fan of Rainpoint product, where I usually find that the quality is clearly superior to other equivalent product. Unfortunately, it was not the case for this irrigation system.
For a starter, the plastic stakes are not deep enough to keep things in place in loose soil, especially when you’re fighting with the hose kink from being rolled up.
The connectors were easy to use, better than friction-push version, but are also plastic and specialized enough that they would be hard to replace or get additional ones.
For the volume of water that you can possibly dispense, I don’t feel like a bigger main line was beneficial, and it makes the system more complex and compatible T-connectors hard to find.
Overall this was very similar in quality to other similar irrigation system I have had in the past, and not up to par to the quality I would expect from Rainpoint.
I was looking for something better to replace my existing cheap outdoor irrigation system which cause me issues and degrade quickly every season, and this would be no better.
I would not recommend it, but then the price is also reasonable, currently selling at under $20, this represent a fair value for what you get, and you should expect the quality that comes with that price. I hope this is not a direction Rainpoint is headed toward as it is really not representative of their usual quality I have come to expect from them.
Several downsides, but it works well.
I was looking for a solution to replace my current irrigation system for my garden boxes. I thought I would give this a try. I have to say, for a Rainpoint product, I was disappointed.
The positive is that the T’s are easy to install. Way better than the push-only/friction fit plugs I have used in the past. And the kit works well once installed
But there are several negatives:
– Everything is made of plastic, and from experience, I had several similar nozzle damage or clog way too easy in the past.
– The plastic stakes are too short to really keep things well in place, unless you’d somehow have a really hard packed soil, which you should not.
– I get that using a bigger main pipe can help with the debit, but I could not help but find it inconvenient to have to juggle between 2 different gauge, and end up missing a bit of one size and having an excess of the other. Unless you will be really having the nozzle give out the biggest debit possible, and all of them at once, I don’t see that you would have a debit issue for this kind of setup.
– Using different sizing makes this kit very specialized and hard to maintain (ie.: replacing a T piece in a few years)
So overall, I don’t think this would be my go to recommendation, but at the right price, this can be interesting for the right person. I’ve known Rainpoint to make really clever products and very durable ones, and this does not seem to be up to the standard I have known from them.
Quality drip kit with flexible tubing, adjustable emitters, and tool free setup for small gardens.
This Rainpoint drip irrigation kit is easy to set up and will work well as a starter system for small gardens, raised beds, or planters or as an add on to already existing systems. The mix of 5/16 and 1/4 inch tubing gives you a simple main line and branch layout, and the tubing is flexible enough to route without much effort. The heat of the sun will easily lay this flat over time. The quick connect fittings for the smaller diameter tube press together and release easily making tool free adjustments simple. The included guillotine style cutter makes it a snap to get square cuts so the connections do not leak. Side cutters or other methods simply do not work as well.
The kit includes both vortex and spray emitters mounted on stakes (4 of each type), and each style is adjustable by hand to control the flow pattern. The vortex heads work well for more focused watering, while the spray heads can cover a wider area for beds or clusters of plants. The stakes and connectors are lightweight but functional, and the system is easy to expand by adding more tubing or additional kits if needed. This style system in my experience is best suited to ground installation as opposed to versions that are better suited to structures or railings where both the emitters and the splitters have provisions built in for a more semi permanent install. This style is either seasonal or if left in place over winter, requires draining and expelling trapped water that would otherwise freeze and damage the components.
The total length of tubing is best suited for smaller areas, and so you will need to plan your layout carefully if you want even spacing or consistent pressure across all emitters. The instructions are minimal, so some trial and error is expected when balancing the flow between emitters or routing the lines around corners. If you have enough hose a loop back to the beginning to balance the overall pressure can be helpful.
This is a practical and easy to assemble drip kit that provides a simple way to deliver water directly to plants without waste. It is a good starting point for basic irrigation setups and can be expanded if your garden layout becomes more complex.
