ExaPen is a new multi-functional automotive circuit tester for diagnostics of electrical components of the automotive electrical network. Despite its compact size, it combines several powerful types of tests, allowing the user to perform checks of many vehicle components with a single device. The extremely easy-to-use and reliable tester is covered by a shock-resistant metal case. It works with 12–24 Volt ranges, which allows to diagnose not only cars and motorcycles, but also trucks.

The tester allows you to quickly check the power supply lines of actuators and signal lines of sensors, activate components containing bulb lamps, solenoids, electric motors, etc. The components can be activated either by conducting voltage from the battery's positive or negative terminal supply. At the same time, ExaPen allows you to control the current consumption and acts as a self-resetting electronic Circuit Breaker with the ability to set the maximum current in the range of 1.20A. If this value is exceeded, the power supply is instantly interrupted. Similar devices for short-circuit protection use automatic thermal fuses, which, unlike ExaPen, are tripped within a few seconds and can cause significant damage to the power supply components. The electronic fuse mode can also be used to locate short-circuit sources without wasting disposable fuses. In particular, components can be activated in the pulse width modulation mode, which allows you to activate low-impedance injectors, smoothly turn electric motors on, and control the solenoid valves of phase rotators.

Tester Design

The device has an impact-resistant stainless steel case, insulated with PVC film. There are two standard 4mm banana connectors to connect to the battery on one side of the case. On the other side, there is a connector for the probe tip, surrounded by two backlight LEDs to illuminate the working area. Information is displayed on a contrasting OLED display. There is also a buzzer for sound indication. You can set the desired operating mode using three buttons: two arrow buttons for navigation and one with a circle to confirm the selection.

ExaPen Menu

The device has a convenient, intuitive menu based on the principle of displaying electrical diagrams.

Exapen comes with a removable probe tip, and if needed, you can simply replace it with any other test leads of our production: flexpin, alligator clip, test hook, extension cord, or any other self-made adapter with a 4mm banana jack.
