WXG-4 Visual Disc Polarimeter

WXG-4 Visual Disc Polarimeter

  • Measurement Range: Typically ±180° optical rotation.
  • Accuracy: High precision for laboratory use.
  • Usage: Commonly used for determining sugar content in food and beverages, as well as analyzing pharmaceuticals and chemicals.
  • Operation: Uses a manual visual alignment method with a polarized light source.

The WXG-4 Visual Disc Polarimeter is a device used to measure the optical rotation of substances, often applied in the food, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries. It helps determine the specific rotation of optically active substances, such as sugars, essential oils, and other chiral compounds.
WXG-4 polarimeter is installed with a 589nm sodium lamp. Switch on the power, the polarized light radiates to the polarizer filter. The user is able to observe the distinct visual fields through eyepiece. Place the test tube into the measuring chamber and rotate the vernier knob until the visual fields appear the equal brightness.
