Development of "Iga no Takumi" began in the search for an easy way to cook rice in a clay pot.
Creating the Perfect Donabe
To craft the perfect rice donabe, we collaborated with Mr. Saji, the president of Saji Pottery, an expert in donabe craftsmanship.
The artisan we were introduced to—renowned for its craftsmanship and trustworthiness—was none other than “Iga-yaki.”
Iga-yaki clay breathes. That’s why it’s perfect for rice-cooking donabe and even for microwave cooking.
Through a challenging journey of trial and error, we persevered in crafting the donabe and succeeded.
Each donabe is crafted and finished by hand.
A microwave-friendly donabe beyond our expectations was finally born.
