Third Rock Energy Type 2 Portable EV Charger UK 3
Third Rock Energy Type 2 Portable EV Charger UK 3 Pin 10 METRE with 12hr Time Delay and IP67 Controllable Digital Screen – Type 2 Charging Cable 6/8/10/13A Variable – Type 2 EV Charger 3 pin 13A 10M
- FREEDOM TO CHARGE ANYWHERE – This portable EV charger gives you the freedom to charge from any 3 pin socket, safe in the knowledge that you're always protected. With a built-in Type B RCD to defend against electrical faults, you can easily charge your electric car at any location with complete peace of mind. Perfect for charging at home, at friends and family, or while on trips. The long length gives you greater reach, useful for going around parked cars or accessing an inside power socket.
- PROTECTION FROM DANGEROUS FAULTS – Unlike other 3 pin EV chargers, this EV charger protects you from both direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) leakage [IΔn30mA+DC 6mA]. This is critical because electric vehicles use DC to charge their batteries but many UK homes are unable to detect DC which poses a safety risk. This charger has a built-in Type B RCD specifically developed for EV charging. It can detect all types of DC, meaning you're always protected from dangerous residual current.
- SAFEST & BEST SOLUTION – This type 2 EV charger is fully compliant to BS EN 62752:2016+A1:2020, and certified by CE, TUV, and UKCA, including separate TUV certification for the integral Type B RCD. An intelligent chip protects against: leakage, over heating, over current, over/under voltage, lightning, short circuit, ground faults. It is flame retardant to UL94 V-0 and waterproof to IP67. A thermostatic 3 pin plug adds an extra layer of protection, preventing overheating at the power source.
- HIGHEST QUALITY – The car plug is made from hardwearing heat-resistant thermoplastic. It can withstand 10,000 mating cycles enabling you to charge daily for years. Silver plating on the contact pins ensures better conductivity and minimises wear and tear. Built to last, the control box features a robust construction that is drive-over resistant by a 1.5T vehicle. The TPU cable has high-impact strength and resistance to extreme heat and cold. It maintains flexibility even in very cold conditions.
- ALL WEATHER RESISTANT – Designed for both indoor and outdoor use, this electric vehicle charger can be used all year round, in all weather conditions, and in extreme heat and cold. With an incredibly high ingress protection rating of IP67, the charging unit is both waterproof and dustproof, and safe to use in wet weather. It is also highly temperature resistant, with an operating range of -25°C to +50°C and a storage range of -40°C to +70°C, making it suitable for the most extreme of climates.
- ADJUSTABLE CURRENT & TIME – This 3 Pin electric car charger has adjustable settings to meet all your charging needs. The variable current gives you a wide range of charging speeds from 6A to 13A, allowing you to charge faster or slower, tailor to solar panels or adjust for camp sites. A delayed start option means you can schedule charging by up to 12 hours and benefit from off peak rates. An LCD digital screen displays all charging data in real time and accurately measures power consumption.
- UNIVERSALLY COMPATIBLE – This type 2 EV charger cable is compatible with all electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles with Type 2 or CCS2 plugs (IEC 62196-2) on the UK market. Please get in touch if you are unsure about which type of connector you need and we will be happy to assist you.
- 2-YEAR WARRANTY – We offer a genuine 2 year warranty, no quibble returns and lifelong technical support. As a UK based company, you will always have a local point of contact to any answer queries or deal with any issues you may have. Press once to delay charging by 1 hour, twice for 2 hours and so on, up to a maximum of 12 hours. To cancel scheduling, press the TIMER button 13 times. NB. Some electric cars do not support delayed start functionality or require an app to operate it – please check with your car manufacturer.

- DURING CHARGING – The current, leakage current, and temperature are all monitored throughout the charging process. In the unlikely event of a fault, the control box cuts off the power supply and stops charging. The indicator light will turn to red and the screen will display the type of fault.
- AFTER CHARGING – When charging is over, the charger will automatically cut off the power supply and stop charging. Disconnect the 3 pin plug from the electrical outlet (socket). Disconnect the Type 2 female connector from your car’s charging inlet (you may need to unlock your car to release the plug).
