Tone and rejuvenate with the Rio 60 Second face lift The Rio 60 Second face lift features two treatment methods to tone, lift and rejuvenate. The process is known as faradic facial toning and it uses EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) technology, so the pulses do all the hard work for you as they gently tone and tighten sagging facial features and rejuvenate the skin. Iontophoresis infusion uses the collagen and retinol patches and the active ingredients are infused deep into the skin to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and help increase skin elasticity. Please note that while the device uses a pulsing technology, you will not actually feel a vibration. Faradic facial toning Practised for over 40 years in beauty salons, faradic facial toning uses EMS to gently contract and relax facial muscles to help tone, lift and tighten. This stimulation also increases local circulation, bringing more oxygen to the skin cells and removing toxins more rapidly, to leave the skin feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Positively charged collagen and retinol are pulled into the skin Iontophoresis infusion Iontophoresis infusion uses small micro currents to carry the active ingredients for skin repair and rejuvenation deep into the skin. This transdermal infusion greatly increases the effectiveness of topically applied treatments which would otherwise find it difficult to penetrate skin. The gel patches contain positively charged collagen and retinol as anti-wrinkle and anti-ageing agents. When placing the positive contact on the patch and the negative contact on the skin, these active ingredients are directly pulled into the skin. Short-term visible results can usually be seen almost immediately. With regular use the effects can become long lasting. We recommend collagen and retinol patches are only used once in 24 hours. If you have sensitive skin we would recommend leaving 48 hours between treatments. The patches are profiled to fit under the eye, across the forehead, around the mouth and across the chin. Treatment Zones The 60 Second face life can tone and treat the areas of the face shown above The Rio 60 Second face lift can be used effectively to tone the forehead and brow, under eye, cheeks, naso labial lines, upper and lower lip, chin, neck and behind the ear, as shown in the Treatment Zones diagram on the right. The Rio 60 Second face lift can also effectively treat forehead lines, crow’s feet naso labial lines and lines on the chin, upper lip, neck and under eye. How to use Apply a generous amount of conductive gel to each of the ball contacts, turn the unit on then position both ball contacts on the area to be treated. Hold the unit in position for 60 seconds to complete treatment of the area. After 60 seconds move onto the next treatment area. During treatment you can increase the power and move the position of the ball contacts if necessary until you feel definite muscles contractions. You may need to adjust the intensity level when treating different areas of the face. For best results follow the faradic facial toning regime every day for the first few weeks, alternating between programmes one and two each day. Apply a the conductive gel to each of the ball contacts and position both ball contacts on the area to be treated Treatment programmes Programme onefirming Rhythmic muscle contractions to condition muscles with a short interval between each pulse. Muscle contractions last two seconds followed by a three second pause. There are 17 power levels in total. We recommend starting on a low power level on each treatment area and build up until muscle contractions are felt. Programme twotap toning Rapid stimulating action. The pulsing massage action lasts five seconds followed by a three second pause. Programme threeinfusion This programme gives a continuous high frequency sensation. There are 10 power levels so start on a low level on each treatment area and build up until a strong tingling is felt. For infusion you must remember which ball contact is which polarity. The (+) ball contact should remain on the patch while the (-) ball remains on the skin. Place one collagen and retinol patch onto the area to be treated and place the other patch on the opposite side of the face. Apply a generous amount of conductive gel to the (-) ball contact to ensure good contact with the skin. Select programme three (infusion) on the unit and with the (-) ball contact touching the skin and the (+) ball remaining on the patch. Slowly and gently move back and forth along the patch for 60 seconds and repeat the process across the other patch. Continue treatment by alternating between patches for 515 minutes on each patch. The patches can remain on the face for up to an hour to continue gently infusing. After removing patches, massage any residue into your skin.

Note: The product does not make a noise and the ball contacts do not move or vibrate in anyway, the treatment is something you feel as the intensity is increased. The light will continuously flash on and off when in use.

Please try the following: Standing in front of a mirror, apply conductive gel to the contacts (this must be applied for the treatment to be felt), then switch the unit on and position your finger over the + button. With the toner in the correct position press and release the + button, leave a couple of seconds now press and release again and continue to do this, you will begin to feel a tingling sensation and with further presses you will feel a definite muscle contraction. As a safety feature the unit will always start at the lowest intensity and increase gradually with each press of the + so you may need to press and release the button several times before you begin to feel anything.

One thing to note is that when the battery power becomes low it will still generate enough power for the green light to flash on/off but not enough power to generate the EMS pulses. When this happens the battery should be replaced with a new one.
