Troubleshooting
Why can't my MIG160 Welder be welded correctly?
1. Wire feed tension: Check the tension on the spooler. Is it set too tight or is the wire feed tension not set correctly?
2. Wire choice: Are you using 0.035” wire? We recommend 0.030-0.035″ for best performance.
3. The length of the welding wire: Is your welding wire of welding torch mouth out too long? Your welding wire out should be no more than ½”.
4. Pull the trigger: To begin welding, pull the trigger on the MIG gun.
5. Proper grounding: The ground clamp should not be attached to painted or coated metal.

About MIG gas:
- Connect the ground cable terminal to the negative terminal and connect the polarity conversion connector to the positive terminal.
About MIG without gas:
- Connect the ground cable terminal to the positive terminal, and connect the polarity conversion connector to the negative terminal, just use the flux cored wire, do not the Cylinder.
About Lift Tig:
- The ground cable terminal is connected to the positive terminal, the TIG torch is connected to the negative terminal, and the polarity conversion connector does not need to be connected. The Tig gun 2-pin cable does not need to be connected, and the blue wire is connected to the gas cylinder (the 2-pin wire is used for high-frequency arc start of the TIG machine). LIFT TIG uses argon gas, must prepare the gas bottle yourself.
About MMA:
- The ground wire terminal is connected to the negative terminal, the welding torch terminal is connected to the positive terminal and the polarity conversion connector does not need to be connected.
- For the electrode size it is 1.6-3.2mm, suitable for materials E6017, E7018
Welding wire:
- 0.8mm flux cored wire is included in the package. The machine is suitable for 0.8/0.9/1.0mm, 1 kg solid wire and flux cored wire. The solid wire must be bought yourself. The flux cored wire comes with a roll of 0.8mm (1 kg).
Wire feed wheels:
- the package comes with two wire feed wheels.
- One side of the wire feed wheel is 0.8mm, one side is 1.0mm. 0.8mm side can use 0.8mm welding wire, 1.0mm side can use 0.9mm and 1.0mm welding wire, V-type is used for solid wire welding, knurled wheels Used for flux cored welding.
Inductance adjustment:(V)
- Inductance adjustment: If the splash is too large or the welding pool is not deep enough, it can be adjusted to a larger value, otherwise it can be smaller.
