The drill bits diamonds are cooled by a vegetable oil based coolant inside the drill bit shank. This coolant flows through the drill bit tip during drilling and cools the diamonds. The coolant is released by the rotary motion of the drill bit and by the volume reduction in the bit body. The diamonds are effectively cooled during drilling. This prevents premature burn-up of the diamonds and increases the lifetime.
