Optimal flavour development

The flat lid developed by STAUB with a special aroma rain structure on the inside ensures a continuous cycle of humidity and natural humidification of food during the cooking process. While condensed water collects on the sides of curved lids without any structure, it drips down on the picots of STAUB lids and is distributed evenly. The effect is enhanced by placing ice cubes on the lid.

Energy-saving cooking

The cast iron ensures optimum heat distribution and makes the Cocotte an energy-efficient cookware. Heat the roaster for 5 minutes at one third of the total power of your hob. Then you can use the full power and heat the roaster up to 250°C. Thanks to the particularly long and even temperature storage, hot food stays hot for a long time even on the table, while cold food remains optimally cool.

High quality enamelling

The cast iron cocotte is covered on the inside with a matt black enamel with a rough structure. This gives the food an excellent roasting aroma when fried and enhances the inherent flavour of the fresh ingredients. With each use, fats settle into the roughened structure, which in combination with heat and steam form a good non-stick property. The natural patina that develops over time allows frying with very little fat and easy cleaning.

All STAUB products are made in France with traditional craftsmanship. Individual sand moulds give each product its unique shape. Through handiwork and with love for detail, the cookware acquires its unique appearance, functionality and excellent quality.
